This is where I am right now! I am posting my comments in the computer room in my house. On my left, is a large window, and earlier this evening, this is what it looked like. This is one of the most relaxing places to be in , in the whole of Brasilia. You can see a beautiful sunset in the evenings. This time of the year, which is very dry, comes accompanied by the most breath taking views of colorful sunsets. They even include tints of purple. Can you see? In the morning, you are woken up by the twitter and chatter of parakeets who stop by to get some berries from the trees in my house for breakfast, and then continue on their journey to return the next morning. That's where I am at this moment!

Inspiring, isn't it, Pat? The tints of purple, orange and yellow make Brasilia sky a very special one, even more so in the dry season. Thanks for sharing such a poetic view of your space with us.
Is there anything which is not clear to you about Flickr?
Wow, Pat! This is really beautiful... I love sunsets... a gift from above to end the day... I usually go to the "mirante" in Jardim Botânico... It'a a really nice place! By the way, where do you live?
Cheers
Hi, Pat.
Your photo of the strikingly beaufiul sunset in Brasília reminds me of sunsets here in Phoenix: it's very dry here most of the time, so Phoenix sunsets are often glorious, too—red and pink and purple and gold and coral in a thousand different shades and hues. I noticed the same thing when I lived in a small town on the Oregon Coast, about a block from the Pacific Ocean. It wasn't dry there, though: instead, light, gentle rain was very common.
There's so much beauty around us if we only take the time to look at it and appreciate it!
I used to hear parakeets and even parrots (small ones or sometimes large ones that were escaped pets) when I lived in certain parts of Los Angeles. I don't hear them here, however, although there were once wild parrots in Arizona, and I understand that there have been attempts to re-introduce them.
Our house faces east, so in front of the house, we can see beautiful sunrises and in the back, we can see equally beautiful sunsets. Sadly, I'm often too busy with incosequential things to take a few minutes to notice the beauty that surrounds me—and when I think of it, it's generally too late: it's fully light or fully dark and I've missed two of the most spectacular parts of the day.
Best wishes, as always—
Dennis in Phoenix
we have one more thing in common... the love for the sky of Brasilia... As Djavan would say. Your photo is simply awe-inspiring! Thank you for such a gift, thank you for sharing!
